About me
Hi my name is Beccy and I am a Community Health Worker based in Exeter. As a mother of two children myself I know how amazing it is becoming a parent as well as a little challenging at times! Before becoming a Community Health Worker, I worked for 11 years as a Senior Nursery Nurse.
Until recent budget cuts in April 2018 I was running the antenatal classes for the West Exe and Exminster area of Exeter. I started helping and assisting with the classes back in 2011 and have been running all three classes on my own since 2016. |
As this is something I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching for the past eight years, and because I have a real passion about what I do, I am determined to allow this service to carry on for parents to be. Allowing you all to still have the opportunity to prepare for your amazing journey into parenthood.
Attending antenatal parenting sessions is one of the best things you can do before baby arrives. This allows you to gain as much information from a professional as possible before the time comes, when you will need to put it all into practice with your new arrival. Reading information and guidance is very different to talking about it amongst others, questions and ideas are great shared and this is invaluable knowledge you cannot gain from the internet or from books.
My focus is to provide a personal, enjoyable one to one session helping you to feel confident about becoming a parent, gaining knowledge, finding facts from reliable sources.
I look forward to being a part of your special journey, on the way to meeting your new arrival.

In addition to the cuts in antenatal classes, there have also been cuts to one of the other workshops I have been running since 2010, Baby Resuscitation and Choking work shop. Once again I feel that this is invaluable information that should be available for all parents, grandparents and carers. This can also be provided as a one to one session in your home.
